TY - JOUR AU1 - Aulerich, Richard, J. AU2 - Ringer, Robert, K. AU3 - Sloan, Carol, S. AB - Summary Semen was obtained from 122 of 147 attempted electro-ejaculations of 40 male ranch mink during the 1969 breeding season. Both anesthetized and unanesthefized mink were ejaculated using a bi-polar rectal electrode and an electrical stimulus of from 2 to 8 volts and 0.15 to 0.6 milliamperes applied for approximately 4 seconds and repeated at 10-sec. intervals. The average number of stimuli required to obtain an ejaculation was 7.3±.56. Sperm per ejaculate ranged from 0.5 to 12.5 × 106 with a mean of 3.75 × 106. The average volume of semen per ejaculate was .021 milliliters. Sperm motility in various extenders was estimated and some sperm abnormalities described. This content is only available as a PDF.
