TY - JOUR AU - Xv, Jian-ping AB - The titanium clad steel plates were prepared by vacuum roll-cladding (VRC) in three ways: without interlayer, with Fe interlayer and Ni interlayer. With the increase in temperature, the TiC layer becomes thicker and the metal compounds increase at the interface during VRC without interlayer. The bonding strength is 266 MPa at 900°C. The Fe interlayer effectively inhibits the diffusion of C element and reduces the amount of TiC. The fracture is brittle and partial ductile, and the interface bonding strength improved. The Ni interlayer can prevent the interdiffusion of Ti and Fe elements, but brittle TiC and Ti-Ni compounds are formed at the interface. The bonding strength is low, and the fracture is brittle, which occurs at the Ti-Ni interface.
