AB - This work presents examination of a novel current source circuit. The implementation of a linear combination of tworeference voltages and a voltage drop across a load resistor to control a power supply voltage in a typical bipolar currentsource allows limitation of the correlation between the output stage collector-emitter voltage and the load current,resistance. The first reference voltage, Vref1, controls the load current, while the second reference voltage, Vref2, controlsthe output stage emitter-collector voltage. Consequently, this voltage is independent of the load current and resistance,which is particularly important for reducing the influence of Early effect. The presented circuit is characterized by asimple design and relatively low cost.
