TY - JOUR AB - 384 OBITUARY. On examination.—There was a generalized erythema, the skin was dry and he had some slight conjunctivitis. No enlarged glands; spleen not enlarged and nothing abnormal found. Blood-count (November 11th, 1937).—Haemoglobin, 98% ; red cells, 5,200,000 per c.mm. ; white cells, 13,800 per c.mm. ; colour index, 0*95. Differential count.—Polymorphonuclear neutrophils, 82% ; lympho- cytes, 12% ; large mononuclears, 1% ; eosinophils, 1% ; basophils, 2% ; myelocytes, 2%. Film showed no evidence of leukaemia. Differential count (February 12th, 1938).—Leucocytes, 12,400 per cm. m ; polymorphonuclear neutrophils, 77% ; lymphocytes, 20% ; large mononuclears, 1% ; eosinophils, 1% ; myelocytes, 1%. Film: no evidence of leukaemia. Comments.—Dr. Ingram suggested removal of a gland and examination of bone-marrow to exclude leukaemia. He thought the glands were enlarged. (6) A case of ? necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum. A single woman, aged 17 years. She had had diabetes mellitus for 8 years and had had 30 units of insulin twice daily. The lesions on the arms had been present for five years. The insulin injections were given into the thigh. There was a plaque about 2 cm. in diameter of translucent brownish infiltration resembling lupus vulgaris on each upper arm.
