TY - JOUR AU - Woog, James, N AB - To the Editor: During the past few months, I have received several announcements of seminars sponsored by various manufacturers of exercise equipment and electrical modalities. Basically, these are courses of instruction in how to use the equipment produced by these companies (even though some claim they are not courses to promote their product) and most of the courses are expensive. I assume that there is a great need for these courses. However, I cannot understand how anyone would be willing to pay $2,000 to over $16,000 for a piece of equipment without first being thoroughly trained in its use. Even more inconceivable is that the cost of instruction in the use of the equipment is not included in the purchase price. After paying over $2,000 for a piece of equipment, it should be unnecessary to pay an additional amount to learn how to use it.
