AB - WITH increasing use of polyacrylamide gel in zone-electrophoresis, the need for rapid removal of excess stain from the gel increases. The conventional destaining of the gel by washing in 5–7 per cent acetic acid may take from one to several days. This is not only inconvenient but also renders this technique unsuitable for the purification of biological substances for additional investigations.
