TY - JOUR AB - INFORMATION IN THE MINISTRY OF THE STRUCTURAL MATERIALS INDUSTRY OF THE USSR The collegiate of the Ministry of Structura!Materials Industry of the USSR has discussed the produc- tion of structural ceramics in the light of the decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR: Measures for Developing the Structural Materials Industry in 1968-1970, published in May, 1968. The collegiate observed that as a result of work done by the collectives of the various enterprises in the Ministry and by the Institutes in 1969, the expected growth for the basic types of structural ceramics compared with 1967 is as follows: ceramic facing tiles 19%, including 45% colored tiles, ceramic floor tiles 12.4%, facade ceramic tiles 51%, acidproof tiles 44.7%, and sanitary ware 7.4%. The tasks in connection with the production of new and improved structural ceramics specified by the above government decree for 1968 and 1969, resulting from the introduction of new techniques, better technology, and increased labor productivity, are being fulfilled and exceeded. There have been marked increases in the technical levels and mechanical equipment of ceramic plants.
