TY - JOUR AU - Milošević, N AB - This paper proposes a practical solution for calibration of heat flux meters, typically used in assessment of energy efficiency of buildings, where specific heat flux values are usually below 100 Wm−2. Output signal of such sensors is dependent both on heat flux and temperature, while means for their calibration are currently limited to apparatuses operating according to the reference steady state thermal conductivity measurement methods. A guarded axial heat flow apparatus, that provides a measurable heat flux directed through the cross-section of disc-shaped sensors whose voltage response is acquired, may conveniently overcome some disadvantages of other steady state reference methods, primarily their time-consumption. A description of a heat flux meter calibration setup developed at the Institute VINČA is given in this paper. A key effect that significantly contributes to the calibration uncertainty is analyzed, as well as their corrections. Results of a calibration example are given in the last section.
