Stets The All-Union Scientific-Research Institute for Industrial Rubber Processing Equipment (VNIIRTmash) has developed a machine for shredding large used tires (Fig. i). The machine produces lumps of size not more than i00 mm, which can be shredded further. There is no need for preliminary cutting of the tire beads. The machine is intended for plants which recycle used tires. The tire is fed onto the machine roller conveyor by the main conveyor, or is loaded with the help of a hoist. The rotating rollers move the tire to the carrier and position it above the centering rollers of the carrier table. The table with two pairs of centering rollers rises and the rollers enter the tire beads~ Each pair of rollers moves to one side to clamp the tire on the carrier. The carrier then moves with the tire to the rotating support and pressure rolls. The carrier movement is initially fast and then slows down when cutting starts. The tire is squeezed between the rotating support and pressure rolls, made to rotate, and simultaneously fed towards the shredding knife TI - Machine for shredding large tires JF - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01159556 DA - 2005-01-29 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/machine-for-shredding-large-tires-rY0yCOUUns SP - 393 EP - 394 VL - 23 IS - 8 DP - DeepDyve ER -
