Chronic cannulation for z’ntermittcnt in trauenous fluid administration. J, Appl. PhysioL 38(4) : 750-751. 1975-A system is described for rapid and effective venous cannulation for long-term administration of fluids in rabbits. This method is completely free of any harness or sling-type apparatus and in no way interferes with the normal mobility of the animal. The animals maintained in this way have participated in programs of triweekly administration (2-3 ml/dose) of fluid for as long as 5 mo. rabbits; toxicology; animal maintenance MANY EXPERIMENTAL DESIGNS utilizing animals require long-term administration of fluids or frequent administration of drugs or hormones. One of the major problems encountered with animal cannulation techniques is that the animal rakes the cannula loose or chews off the exposed tip and thus renders it functionless. To facilitate such experimentation it is useful to have some type of venous cannula, which permits easy administration of fluid, is inaccessible to the animal, yet is not harmful, and can be maintained TI - Chronic cannulation for intermittent intravenous fluid administration JF - Journal of Applied Physiology DA - 1975-04-01 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/the-american-physiological-society/chronic-cannulation-for-intermittent-intravenous-fluid-administration-qdqORAM0Yl VL - 38 IS - DP - DeepDyve ER -
