TY - JOUR AU - Heylen, A E AB - A circuit is presented which allows the arc current from which the ultraviolet light is derived to be automatically stabilised. The arc current is stabilised by passing it through a power transistor, the base of which is controlled by an operational amplifier. The arc current sensing resistor (6.6 Omega , 12 W) is connected to the inverting input of the op-amp, whilst the reference voltage, taken from a tapping via a potentiometer from the power supply and stabilised by a zener diode, is connected to the non-inverting input.
