TY - JOUR AU - Rivers, Ira La AB - Abstract The genus Trogloderus was erected by Le Conte in 1879, to receive the newly-described costatus from Idaho. In 1883, Le Conte and Horn erroneously restricted the species to “Nevada,” but Dr. Blaisdell, in 1909, extended the distribution to “Western Nevada and the contiguous eastern California.” In the same publication, Dr. Blaisdell described a new species, tuberculatus, from a single specimen in the U. S. National Museum from Los Angeles County, California.
