Sevast'yanikhin A series of new gate valves has been developed by the TsKBA (Central Bureau of Design of Pipe Fixtures) for experimental-industrial operation in hydrogen sulfide-containing working media (Table i). This became necessary due to the absence of reliable, adequately developed~ and industrially assimilated designs of stop valve fittings of progressive types using soft packing materials in the gate unit (ball check valves designed for working medium temperature of 150~ and rotary disk slide valves for temperatures above 100~ In the new designs, positive and complete hermetic sealing is possible when the working medium flow is shut off. This is particularly important in case of working media which contain solid inclusions. These valves are characterized by small struc- tural length and low coefficients of resistance which are only slightly less than those for ball check valves. These features facilitate more efficient (in terms of size and metal con- tent) layout solutions in respect of assemblies and equipment. Besides, the new fittings are characterized by high reliability and durability. This is essential in operating with highly corrosive and permeable working TI - New designs of gate valves for liquids and hydrogen sulfide-containing gaseous media JF - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01150219 DA - 2005-01-28 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/new-designs-of-gate-valves-for-liquids-and-hydrogen-sulfide-containing-pYdR2dQtUV SP - 195 EP - 197 VL - 27 IS - 4 DP - DeepDyve ER -
