There are many papers [i, 2] on spectrophotometer errors and improvements in metrologi- cal support to the instruments, but the details of calibrating and checking atomic-absorp- tion instruments have usually not been considered. An atomic-absorption spectrophotometer differs from a UVI one in the use of line absorp- tion, i.e., flux measurement on the line of some element absorbed by the vapor of that ele- ment from the sample. In most ordinary UVI spectrophotometers, the absorption is measured against the background of the continuous radiation from the light source, and the measurement method is that of total absorption, i.e., one measures the proportion of the absorbed energy in the entire absorption line. The methods used in line and total absorption have TI - Metrological characteristics for means of calibrating and checking transmission scales in atomic absorption spectrophotometers JF - Measurement Techniques DO - 10.1007/BF00990530 DA - 2004-12-30 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/metrological-characteristics-for-means-of-calibrating-and-checking-pBtwh13FlS SP - 1050 EP - 1056 VL - 33 IS - 10 DP - DeepDyve ER -
