AB - Nialamide + dl-tryptophan was compared with nialamide + placebo in adouble-blind trial on 30 hospitalized patients suffering from endogenous depression. Patientstreated with nialamide + tryptophan showed a higher average of improvement thanpatients treated with nialamide alone (+ placebo). The most significant difference wasobserved in the onset of improvement. The nialamide + dl-tryptophan treatment had morerapid action.
