TY - JOUR AU - AB - Gypsum In this study, the effect of experimental parameters (ultrasonic treatment, temperature, Precipitated calcium CO flow rate) on the conversion of desulphurization gypsum (DG) to precipitated carbonate calcium carbonate (PCC) particles by the direct mineral carbonation method was Venturimeter investigated using the Taguchi approach. A venturimeter was used as a carbonation zone Ultrasonic power in each experiment. The obtained products were characterized using XRD, SEM, and Mineral carbonation. particle size analyses. Furthermore, the properties of each product were evaluated according to the ASTM standards. Finally, needle-like, cubic or hollow PCC containing calcite crystals were obtained depending on the production conditions. The PCC particles produced herein provides required properties to be used in the following industries; paint and plastic.
