Napara-Volgina, I. D. Radomysel'skii, UDC 621.762.01 and M. L. Gorb The objective of the work described below was to investigate the structure and mechanical properties of materials produced from iron-chromium and iron-chromium-nickel alloy powders prepared by the method of diffusional impregnation from point sources [1-5] and compare them with the properties of ma- terials of the same compositions produced from mixtures of pure metal powders. To obtain sintered chromium- and chromium-nickel-containing materials, use was made of Kh6, KhlT, Kh30, Kh18N9, and Kh23N18* steel powders; the carbon content of the powders did not exceed 0.1%. For the investigation of the mechanical properties of materials of varying compositions, tensile test specimens were compacted under various pressures, The specimens were sintered for periods of 2-5 h over the temperature range 1150-1250~ in a thoroughly dried hydrogen atmosphere or in packing mate- rials containing getters (chromium powder, titanium shavings, titanium hydride, etc.). After sintering, the specimens were cooled in the muffle outside the furnace. The results of mechanical tests were processed using the formula [6]: a : TI - A comparative investigation of the properties of materials produced from alloy powders and mixtures of pure metal powders JF - Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics DO - 10.1007/BF00791736 DA - 2004-11-27 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/a-comparative-investigation-of-the-properties-of-materials-produced-nIYChlxLmC SP - 960 EP - 963 VL - 12 IS - 12 DP - DeepDyve ER -
