TY - JOUR AU - Lund, Mark W. AB - An X-ray lens using refraction has been proposed by Tomie, anddemonstrated for 14 keV X-rays by Snigirev et al. This type of lens is madefrom a series of very weak lens elements. I calculate the properties of suchlenses constructed of various chemical elements and compounds over the range of1 to 30 keV. In general, I find that X-ray optics made from low density, low Zmaterials have the widest useful apertures, but require more lens elements thandenser and higher Z materials.
