AB - We present cylindrical cavity-expansion perforation equations for the ballistic-limit and residual velocities for 7.62 mm APM2 bullets that perforate steel plates. These closed-form equations identify the dominant problem parameters required to understand the perforation process. Models show good agreement with previously published data for two different high-strength steel plates.
