AHMED, M.A. EL HITI Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Tanta University, Tanta, Egypt The magnetic semiconductor ferrites are of great interest due to their electrical and magnetic proper- ties. MgMn ferrite cores are used for digital comput- /L_L_ ers [1], while MnZn ferrites are used for microwave integrating circuits [2] and ferrite core transformers [3]. Addition of impurities leads to alteration of the characteristics of ferrites for specific applications. The addition of tetravalent titanium ions (Ti 4รท) influences the electrical and magnetic properties of ferrites [4,5]. Pentavalent antimony ions (Sb 5+) I ~ were substituted in the ferrite system Ni~+;=Fe2_2=- ~(d) SbxO 4 and the cation distribution was studied [6]. It was found that Sb 5+ ions are located in the octa- hedral sites. The spinel ferrites ZnxNis/3_=FelSbt/3- O4 were studied [7] by Mossbauer spectroscopy over 22 30 38 46 54 62 70 78 86 94 102 26 (degrees) a wide range of temperatures; it was confirmed that Sb ions lie in octahedral sites.
