Women who have a history of childhood abuse demonstrate an array of trauma-related symptoms and comorbidities. The aim of this article is to address the long-term trauma-related symptoms women with histories of childhood abuse face that pertain to impaired interpersonal and vocational functioning. This article will examine key career issues faced by women survivors of childhood abuse, explore how career construction theory can be integrated into a trauma-informed career counselling approach, and present career-helping strategies.
