THE international prosecutor is the public face of international criminal justice, but unfortunately there are very few texts on this subject. This volume named International Prosecutors edited by Luc Reydams, Jan Wouters, Cedric Ryngaert has filled that gap. 2. In the introductory chapter, the editors of this volume explain their strategies in deper- sonlizing their study. The approach of their study and the main content of each chapter are introduced hereafter. 3. Named “The Politics of Establishing International Criminal Tribunals”, Chapter 2 revisits the political history of the courts or regimes employing international prosecutors. The authors, Luc Reydams and Jan Wouters, identify that “international criminal tribunals are the result of political process involving a multitude of domestic and international actors pursuing their political interests (p.7). They conclude that a momentary convergence of interests is a necessary condition for the establishment of any international criminal tribunal. 4. The mandates of international prosecutors are mainly discussed in Chapter 3.
