AB -  Dairy industry collaborates in research A new body -the Dairy Industry Research Policy Committee has been set up to coordinate the research needs of the dairy industry. Under the Chairmanship of Mr Tony Good, Chairman of Express Dairy, it will represent the widest interests of the industry in research matters, especially those affecting the utilization of milk. Members of the Committee include representatives from the Dairy Trade Federations and Milk Marketing Boards of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, in addition to the Agricultural Research Council, National Institute for Research in Dairying and The Hannah Research Institute. The Committee will define research priorities and arrange sponsorship of research work based on the recommendations of its five Contact Groups. These are composed of private sector and public sector specialists who are experts in the following areas: raw milk quality: liquid milk; preserved milks including whey and whey products; cheese and other fermented products; and butter and cream.
