TY - JOUR AU1 - Liang, Janus S. AB - ABSTRACT Instructing multimedia practice is a fundamental issue in a computer science high‐level course. However, for an effective instruction of this subject an experience with real case study can be considered as fundamental. To achieve this goal, in this research a project for the practical learning of multimedia application and development is presented. This consists of an on‐line VR‐based written test system for automotive driving license. This research breaks down an on‐line VR‐based written test system into several portions that are suited for teamwork. Building this system it is possible to understand the performance and limitations of different tools, for example, multimedia, database, programming, etc., and to create a collaborative learning environment. We conclude with a rough timeline for modeling an on‐line written test system for automotive driving license during the course of a semester. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
