Safronov Compactors, Dump Trucks, Motor Graders, and Other Equipment. After investigations and tests were carried out over a' five-year period on different types of earth-compacting machines, three models of four-wheeled, self- powered compactors with twin wheels mounted on two axles, were adopted for mass production. With respect to their assemblies and parts, the -r Models 815 (Fig. 1). 825B, and 835 compactors (Table 1) are identical to the Models 814, 824B. and 834 wheel dozers. In the self-powered compactors, two pairs of wheels, halanced in the tramverse direction, are mounted on the front and rear frames of the tractor, which are connected by a two-kingpin universal join~ that permits them to rotate by as much as 44" with respect to each other. The articulated frame of the compactors and the balanced suspension of the wheels provide a permanent contact between the feet and the surface of the material being com- pacted. Each wheel in the compactor can be ballasted with a volume of 352, 320, or 1000 liters of water or other fluid solution for the compactor models 815, 8258, and 835, TI - Construction and road equipment produced by the caterpillar firm JF - Power Technology and Engineering (formerly Hydrotechnical Construction) DO - 10.1007/BF02376410 DA - 2006-03-22 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/construction-and-road-equipment-produced-by-the-caterpillar-firm-jD7Fpz54jm SP - 599 EP - 602 VL - 7 IS - 6 DP - DeepDyve ER -
