TY - JOUR AU - Kalitenko, K. AB - INFORMATION (UDC 651.56 : 662.764) Engineers D. P. Sergeev and K. L. Kalitenko Translated from Khimicheskoe i Neftyanoe Mashinostroenie, No. 5, p. 45, May, 1965 A group of authors: A. P. Bronshtein, L. I. Nepomnyashchii, M. D. Kuznetsov, A. A. Gross, i. ~. Barakhotskii, and A. K. Miroshniehenko, have proposed a new gas cooler (see diagram) in which the water sections are made up of separate chambers of oval cross sections. This design innovation will enhance effective heat transfer. A baffle 6 is mounted in the housing 2 of the cooler, and extension-type water sections 3 are placed in windows cut out of the sides of the housing. Two pipe attachments 1 are built into the top of the housing to admit gas into the cooler, and two pipe outlets in the bottom provide for gas removat. The water section consists of an outer 7 and an inner 5 chamber grid with chambers spaced apart from another to form passages for the gas flow. The outer chamber grid 7 has a closure 9 with pipe attachments 8 for admission and exit of cooling water. The chambers communicate via the external U-pipes 4. *Patent No. 153070 awarded to A. P.
