TY - JOUR AU - Wise, Marcus, B. AB - Abstract A unique feature of the multimode ionization detector (MMID) for gas chromatography (GC) is the tunable selectivity of the mixed electron capture/electron emission mode. In this paper, tunable selectivity is utilized to differentiate isomeric polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The MMID is also used as a complement to mass spectrometry (MS) for the unambiguous identification and quantitation of benzopyrene isomers in a PAH enriched isolate from a coal-derived oil.
