The proposed antenna simply consists of two coupling strips, a meandered inductive shorting strip and a C‐shaped feeding strip. For the strips, there are three overlapping areas, which function as distributed capacitors. The overlapping areas and the inductive shorting strip compose the internal matching circuit to achieve the good impedance matching for the operation band of 698‐2710 MHz, and the lower and upper cut‐off frequency of the operation band can be adjusted independently. The working mechanisms of the proposed antenna and the internal matching circuit are discussed, and the simulated and measured results demonstrate the validity of our design.
