The main types of calculations for rolling stock reliability indicators are described. Variants of test schemes for rolling stock units for the experimental determination of their reliability indicators are considered. A method is proposed for calculating the reliability indicators of locomotive safety devices, which makes it possible to predict the state of these units during the operation period. Structural diagrams of element redundancy systems are described. The indicators of reliability of locomotive safety devices are determined: the failure rate, the receiver reliability function, transmitter, and indicator. General redundancy is selected, i.e., a system with a permanently enabled reserve and an integer multiplicity.
