AB - AbstractThis paper provides a comprehensive review of studies on Chinese diaspora cemeteries, focusing on their perception, maintenance, and research in the context of English-language world scholarship. It aims to highlight the significance of these cemeteries in preserving the heritage and identity of the Chinese diaspora worldwide. It examines studies from various disciplines, including history, anthropology, archaeology, and geography, that explore Chinese diaspora cemeteries and analyzes the findings of these studies to gain insights into the cultural practices, material culture, and management challenges associated with these cemeteries. Finally, it identifies gaps in research, such as the underrepresentation of certain regions and the need for comparative studies across different countries and cultures.
