TY - JOUR AU1 - Furch, Jan AU2 - Nguyen, Van Thai AB - An internal combustion engine is a relatively complex device, consisting of many mechanical parts. These mechanical parts wear out during their life cycle. Therefore, the lubrication system in an internal combustion engine has a significant impact on its lifetime. One of the main parts of the lubrication system is a quality engine oil and filter, which has a lifetime that is recommended by the manufacturer. This engine oil helps to reduce friction between the moving parts of the internal combustion engine that are in contact with each other. These particles get into the engine oil, from which we can then determine the quality of the engine oil and its service life, but most importantly, we can determine the technical condition of the internal combustion engine. The aim of this paper is to show the practical use of ferrography for determining the service life of an internal combustion engine.
