AB - In this paper a two-dimensional measure of image quality is proposed and discussed. The measure can be used as an objective specification for imaging systems, can be readily related to several forms of subjective data, and is based on easily-understood definitions. The paper includes a brief summary of the concepts, with examples; and a discussion of some critical details.
