Bubnov The existing methods of hydraulic tube testing are not very productive and require the use of manual labor. In the Dzerzhinskii Chemical-Engineering Plant we have worked out and introduced a universal device for hydraulic tube testing, in which sealing for hermeticity is carried out with the use of a ball surface. This makes it possible to carry out hydraulic testing at pressures up to 400 kgf/cm 2 on three tubes or more simul- taneously in parallel on two devices (the tested tubes are removed from one device and a new set of tubes is installed for hydraulic testing; hydraulic testing is carried out on the other device). The device (see Fig. 1) consists of two supports on which the base i is installed. This is made up of channel iron with channels for fastening the mobile clamp 2. The clamp consists of a pressure screw and a removable insert mounted in it, containing ball 8, which rotates freely in the insert but is fastened to prevent it from falling out.
