Brazhnikova UDC 621.928.39 (-87) Thefirm Ametek Corporation (USA) offers a design of settling horizontal worm centrifuge with a device for variable control of the depth of the liquid layer in the rotor and a device for reducing the suspen- sion to below the speed of the rotary parts of the centrifuge and for preventing preliminary separation of the sludge, which can cause blockage of the feed chambers, stoppage of the process and the need to strip the centrifuge for cleaning. The firm also offers an improved device for introduction into the centrifuge rotor of washing liquid (improved design of the feed tube), flocculating agent suspension or any other sur- factant. The centrifuge (cf. Fig. 1) has a relatively long hollow rotor 1 rotating around the horizontal axis in shell 2. A planetary reduction gear 21 is mounted on the thick end of the shaft 20. The worm 14 is mounted coaxially inside the rotor, its drum containing a cylindrical (17) and a conical (10) section. A tubular element 13 with a conical section 11 is fitted inside TI - Sedimentation horizontal worm centrifuge with an adjustable depth of the liquid layer and a tube for introduction of washing liquid JF - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01877094 DA - 2005-05-31 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/sedimentation-horizontal-worm-centrifuge-with-an-adjustable-depth-of-dT0zUROp0s SP - 490 EP - 491 VL - 8 IS - 5 DP - DeepDyve ER -
