Galutkina, and A. G. Nemchenko The wastewater from petrochemical manufacturing operations, in particular in the production of iso- prene and polyglycols, contains organic matter that is not decomposed in the process of biochemical treatment. In a number of other countries, liquid-phase oxidation (Lt~) with atmospheric oxygen has been introduced as a method of wastewater treatment to remove such compounds [1-3]. Liquid-phase oxidation proceeds to the greatest extent under severe conditions (temperature 300-370~ pressure 20-28 MPa); such processing involves rather large capital and operating costs, as well as problems with severe corrosion of equipment [4]. One of the methods that can be used to accelerate the LPO process is the use of heterogeneous catalysts. Information on this subject is found mostly in the patent literature [5-9]. The present work has been aimed at lowering the process parameters (reducing the required severity) in the LPO of organic substances in wastewater from isoprene and polyglycol production, by the use of hetero- geneous catalysts. The oxidation was performed with atmospheric oxygen in a unit of the batch autoclave type, TI - Removal of organic substances from wastewater by liquid-phase oxidation with heterogeneous catalysts JF - Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils DO - 10.1007/BF00718500 DA - 2004-11-17 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/removal-of-organic-substances-from-wastewater-by-liquid-phase-dS0bSHcLEr SP - 364 EP - 366 VL - 15 IS - 5 DP - DeepDyve ER -
