Shidlovskii The wide use of magnetic tapes based on polyethylene terephthalate (PT) in many areas of technology poses several problems, the solution of which will make it possible to signifi- cantly improve tile quality of recorded and reproduced information and improve the reliabilitv of magnetic recording apparatus (MRA). Among such problems is developing a model to describe the rheolozical aspects of the mechanical properties of magnetic tapes within a broad tem- perature range. As is known [i], tile service-temperature range of many MRA is --60-+80~ Here the sections of magnetic tape located in the MRA channel are subjected to long-acting static and dynamic loads. These loads may lead to substantial strains and, thus, to distor- tion of tile recorded information. In connection with this, it becomes necessary to be able to reliably predict creep and relaxation processes in magnetic tapes in the above temperaturc~time intervals. Previous studies [2-4] presented results of theoretical~xperimental determinations of the theological parameters of magnetic tapes based on PTP.
