TY - JOUR AU - Sherman,, P.L. AB - Abstract A modified injection system was developed for incorporation into gas chromatographs not possessing capillary column valve switching capabilities. This system incorporated splitless and preconcentration injection techniques, allowing for the injection of large volumes of sample but bypassing excess solvent and column residue. By microprocessor-controlled valving sequences, the injected sample was transferred onto the capillary column and the injector space was purged of residual solvent and sample, while venting the system and supplying make-up carrier gas to the flame ionization detector.
