TY - JOUR AU1 - Nikolaenko, O. AU2 - Shtan', A. AB - ANALYSIS APPARATUS FOR NEUTRON ACTIVATION OF OXYGEN CONTENT O.K. Nikolaenko and A.S. Shtan' 1 2 Io At the All-Union Scientific-Research Institute for Radiation Technique we have developed a method and proto- "/ , a type apparatus for automatic rapid analysis of the oxygen content of metals by activation with fast neutrons. The appa- ratus is based on a pulsed NGI-4 neutron generator with a sealed tube; an NGI-1 neutron generator can also be used. The main elements of the apparatus (see Fig. 1) are as follows: a neutron generator in a concrete shielding block, a pneumatic / J transporter for rapid transfer of the specimen and standard I 9 [ from the irradiation position to the measurement position and back, scintillation detectors, and a control panel with a con- trol block, a spectrometric block, and a system for automatic processing of the information. The apparatus, including the f7 shielding block and the control panel, occupies an area of I1 12 "/3 about 25 m 2. The pneumatic transporter has two ducts of rectangular Fig. 1.
