TY - JOUR AU - Fishgal, S. AB - THE CALCULATION OF PISTONLESS HYDROSHOCK DEVICES UDC 621.22.011 S. I. Fishgal Hydroshoek devices with a slave mechanism in the form of a system of pipelines (calculating schemes are shown on Fig. 1) are used in the hydrodynamic treatment of tubes, in wrenches, vibrators, industrial apparatus, research units, etc. The sources of pressure in such units are vibropumps with a separate or combined distributor, hydroaecumulators with a rapid-acting distributor (devices of type a onFig. 1), or hydromultipliers with a pneumatic-hammer or similar shock mechanism (devices of type b on Fig. 1). With a pulsating pressure, there arise tran'sverse vibrations of the tube, which are desirable for vi- brofeeders, but which are not admissible in the bydroshoek treatment of tubes, due to the possibility of their fatigue failure. The amplitude of the pressure pulsation, when there is resonance with the column of liquid in the pipeline, increases considerably. This resonance frequency can be determined using the formulas of [2]. Investigations have shown the insignificant effect of fluctuations of the velocity of the liquid, within the range of velocities employed in machine building, on the dynamic stability of pipelines, in comparison with pulsations of the pressure.
