Osinskii Correct selection of drying equipment for projecting chemical enterprises greatly determines the time consumption, engineering level, and production cost, as also the quality of the product manufactured. Grow- ing demand for drying equipment is met by machinery manufacturing plants chiefly through increased batch production of standard appliances, i.e., dryers where large groups of materials having similar ~nysicochemi- cal properties can be dried. Various types of installations with varied characteristics of the heat transfer agent (temperature, consumption, etc.) can be assembled making use of such appliances. Analysis of growth of chemical industries permits to draw the conclusion that standard batch-produced appliances and installations are suitable for small- (up to 200 kg/h of stockfeed) and medium-scale {up to 3500 kg/h of stockfeed) production. Expenses for research on intensification of the drying process and, es- pecially, for construction and utilization of new types of appliances need a good deal of resources -which are not compensated during the life of the appliances. It should be noted here that typical for small- and medium- scale productions are changes in the technology TI - Selection of the best type of industrial dryers for chemical materials JF - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01177080 DA - 2005-02-01 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/selection-of-the-best-type-of-industrial-dryers-for-chemical-materials-b2cvEYFa0k SP - 701 EP - 704 VL - 16 IS - 12 DP - DeepDyve ER -
