TY - JOUR AU - Lang, A R AB - A single-stage electrostatically focused image intensifier with fibre-optic windows (Mullard type XX 1050) is used as a preamplifier of light produced in the X-ray phosphor and is lens-coupled to a four-stage magnetically focused image intensifier (EMI type 9694). This system combines good light-collection efficiency with high sensitivity for detection of weak diffracted X-ray beams. It makes possible the viewing by standard television equipment of moving X-ray lattice moire interference fringes produced by the superposition of separate but simultaneously Bragg-reflecting crystals.
