This year, it adopted new laws, rules, and policies or amended the existing legal mechanisms relating to the environment, climate change, and natural resources. Though there is no special na- tional legislation relating to climate change, India is trying to comply with the interna- tional climate change law and the decisions of the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has been working as a leading institution to deal with the same. The Supreme Court of India (SC) and the National Green Tribunal (NGT) play a crucial role in the protection of the environ- ment and natural resources in India.
