Severov Work has been conducted in the Severodonets branch of the Scientific-Research Institute of Chemical Machine Building (NIIkhimmash) on ascertaining the possibility of making bulky equipment from poly- pr0pylene with a wall thickness of 10-15 mm by the sintering method. It was established by preliminary experiments that a powder with particle size 200-640 pm was most suitable for sintering. The material of the form (aluminum or steel) and its wall thickness do not affect the quality of the articles fabricated. How- ever, the rigidity of the form and the rate of heat exchange do depend on the wall thickness. The choice of wall thickness is made constructionally. Experimental samples were made of granules or powder, consisting of 65 wt. % particles, 200-320 in size, and 35 wt.% particles, 320-630 ~ in size. The sintering was conducted in a separable form (Fig. 1) 0.0085 m 3 in volume, made of aluminum with a wall thickness of 10 ram, which was rotated at a rate of 100 rpm during the sintering period and in cooling the article to 80-100~ outside TI - Making bulky apparatus from polypropylene by the sintering method JF - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01162843 DA - 2005-01-28 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/making-bulky-apparatus-from-polypropylene-by-the-sintering-method-XniOSbfT0c SP - 342 EP - 344 VL - 9 IS - 4 DP - DeepDyve ER -
