Ostashkin UDC 615.472 : 616.12-085.844-78 External electric heart stimulators, as well as a variety of auxiliary apparatus (instruments to mon- itor the parameters of the heart stimulators, isolating attachments to electrocardiographs, and so on [1]) can be supplied conveniently from dry batteries or storage batteries. An independent supply substantially increases electrical safety for both the patient and the staff [2, 3], creates no extra interference for the monitoring and measuring apparatus, and makes it possible to develop mobile portable instruments that are ready for operation in a minimum of time. All these qualities greatly simplify the use of the apparatus in a clinic, especially under the working conditions of permanent and visiting services for intensive therapy and reanimation [4, 5]. In this article the selection of a battery type for an independent supply is validated and the characteristics for it that are needed to calculate the continuous operating time of the apparatus are cited. An electric heart stimulator of any type can be simply regarded as a generator for pulses having a duration of TI - Selection of a power supply for electric heart stimulators and study of the characteristics of the “Krona VTs” battery JO - Biomedical Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF00560470 DA - 2004-10-15 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/selection-of-a-power-supply-for-electric-heart-stimulators-and-study-XmTyF5bFWO SP - 85 EP - 87 VL - 10 IS - 2 DP - DeepDyve ER -
