Pastukhov UDC 531.729.5.001.24 Threaded devices have a manufacturing tolerance based on the mean thread diameter, whose effect on the precision of setting a base can be eliminated. For instance, in finding the base line of threaded holes it is possible to use a set of threaded bars which cover the en- tire tolerance range for the mean thread diameters of the products and to find the bar which enters with the minimum clearance (the reasoning in case of a screw is similar). The suggested base setting method consists of using a bar whose thread pitch is not equal to that of the threaded device. The pitch and mean diameter of the bar should be se- lected so that it would screw into the entire length of the threaded device (with a margin for wear in the course of utilization) whose mean thread diameter lies at the upper limiting deviation, and to screw up to less than the middle of a device with the lowest limiting de- viation in order to ensure reliable base setting, i.e., it is necessary to meet the condi- tion nl =n/2, where nl is the number of bar thread turns engaged in the TI - Method for setting a base on threaded surfaces JO - Measurement Techniques DO - 10.1007/BF01101193 DA - 2005-01-20 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/method-for-setting-a-base-on-threaded-surfaces-VnetaHkXN3 SP - 1426 EP - 1427 VL - 19 IS - 10 DP - DeepDyve ER -
