TY - JOUR AU - Kukharenko, B. AB - It was found that a strong turbulence of airflow in an axial turbocharger leads to an instable flutter of rotor blades. The analysis of records of blade oscillation showed that pressure fluctuations of axial airflow are preceded by synchronous oscillations of rotor blades and are consequently a source of flutter. The possibility of the relaminarization of airflow in the boundary layer as a result of sudden acceleration creating a velocity gradient is studied. It is proved that the flutter of blades is suppressed by the sudden acceleration of the rotor as a result of a reduction of the intensity of turbulence at the tips of the rotor blades.
