TY - JOUR AU - Göritz, Dietmar AB - An apparatus based on a differential gas‐chromatographic detection system was designed in order to obtain information about the average permeation coefficient for pervaporation (PVAP) of pure liquids through isotactic poly(propylene) (i‐PP). The non‐ideal concentration dependence of diffusivity D prevents one from solving the diffusion equations exactly. Therefore, a method has been developed to obtain information on the intrinsic diffusion coefficient D0 and the plasticisation parameter γ for the two‐parameter function D(c) used. In additon, the concentration profile of the liquid in the membrane can be evaluated.
