Stepanov-Grebennikov UDC 621.753.4:621.96 A radial hinged device has been developed and introduced into operation at the Komsomolets Chemical Engineering Works in Tambov, for cutting the tube ends in heat-exchanger gratings.* The device (Fig. 1) consists of a plate 14 containing two holes A and B. The boss 10 housing the pin 8 is fixed to this plate by four bolts 12 with spherical washers 13. The spherical head on the pin 8 gives accurate location of the cutter relative to the heat-exchanger grating surface. The device is assembled according to the following procedure. The bronze washer 11 is placed on the pin 8 and then the sleeve 9 is fitted, this having welded to it the arm 15 which is a beam welded from angle and strip steel. Next the ring 37 is mounted on the pin so that its hole coincides with peg 36 pressed into the sleeve. The ring 38 is fixed round the wedge 7, the rubber damper 39 and the washer 40 are mounted, and the nut 41 is then applied.
