Bezborodov Among recent publications in Polish, a book on colored glasses* by Master Engineer Waelaw Nowotny is particularly noteworthy. The book has a number of merits and features,both as regards content and composition, which make it stand out from other similar books. Albeit on a scientific basis, it is nevertheless written very simply and can be ascribed to the category of popular-scientific books. In the glass industries of foreign countries, and especially in Poland, there are in existence,even up to now, certain so-called professional mysteries and trade secrets which belong to certain individuals and which are not available to a wide circle of specialists. This is why such a publication as W. Nowomy'sbook is so valuable. Its task is to disseminate the recipes and procedures for the melting and production of colored glasses, and to make them available to masters and workers of the Polish glass industry.
