TY - JOUR AU1 - Janani, Halimeh AU2 - Rezvani, Ali AU3 - Grivani, Gholam AU4 - Mirzaei, Ali AB - The application of mixed metal catalysts containing Co and Ce obtained from two different source materials—[Co(H2O)4NO3Ce(dipic)2] and [Co2(CO)6(2-py COO)Ce(NO3)2(THF)3]—was studied. Complexes were synthesized, characterized, and utilized for the Fischer–Tropsch conversion of synthesis gas to aliphatic hydrocarbons. The impregnated dipicolinate catalyst was pre calcined at 350 °C, whereas the carbonyl catalyst was used without calcination. Characterizations of the catalysts were carried out using powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analysis surface area measurement. The carbonyl-derived bimetallic system showed higher selectivity toward olefin products (19–25 %) than the dipicolinate-derived system (15–16 %). Furthermore, the methane level produced with the carbonyl system was lower (14 %) than that for the dipicolinate system (20 %).
